Advanced Precision Composite (APC) is a company based in Sacramento, California that produces model aircraft propellers. This partnership represents a significant milestone for AMAT as we continue to pursue our goals for the upcoming 2024-25 AIAA Design/Build/Fly competition.

A Brief History of APC Propellers

APC Propellers, originally called Landing Products, was founded in 1989 in Sacramento, California right next to UC Davis. Their founder Fred Burgdorf acquired a Numerically Controlled milling machine and a first generation Apple McIntosh computer to make model aircraft propellers. APC Propellers developed their own CAD software after initial CAD software was found to be lacking for designing the complex shapes of model aircraft propellers. After many years of hard work, APC Propellers gained a strong reputation amongst the RC aircraft community and even earned an award from the Academy of Model Aeronautics.

APC Propellers has been a trusted partner of AMAT in past competition seasons, supplying our team with high quality propellers. Although our club paused its partnership with APC Propellers during the Covid pandemic, we are very thrilled that they have now re-joined us as a Gold Sponsor. Their renewed support marks the beginning of an exciting new chapter for our team.
